The Kracher "Zweigelt Beerenauslese
The Zweigelt Beerenauslese from the house Kracher, located in the Seewinkel in Burgenland/Austria, not far from Lake Neusiedl, can actually be described with one word - delicious!
Of course, this expression is somewhat poor, but describes this top wine with it colloquially simply the most accurate. It can be enjoyed with or without food accompaniment and is becoming increasingly popular with dessert wines.
If the red Beerenauslese is served for dessert after a successful dinner, it goes best with spicy cheese variations made from blue cheese and hard cheese or with desserts made from dark chocolate in combination with wild berries.
However, there is nothing to stop you from enjoying this wonderful sweet wine, which is fermented in barrique barrels and then aged for at least another 6 months, just like that, without any particular occasion, because as the saying goes: "In vino veritas".
The Beerenauslese wines are among the most popular wines from Kracher
Available as a cuvée of Chardonnay and Welschriesling, as Zweigelt and, since the 2013 vintage, also as Rosenmuskateller, there is something for everyone. The grapes of the Beerenauslese are largely infested with "Botrytis cinerea", which gives the wines their typical character. In the gastronomy appreciated as a versatile food companion, our Beerenauslese harmonize with sweet and spicy dishes as well as our blue cheese "Kracher Petit"
Awards and opinions
Wine journalists all over the world fall into raptures when tasting Kracher's sweet wines. British wine journalist Stuart Pigott raved in the Los Angeles Times about the "pure ripe flavors, silky richness and superb elegance." Bruce Sanderson wrote in Wine Spectator, " Kracker's series of 2000s are fabulous wines that combine lushness, power and botrytis character."
These reviews could go on almost endlessly - see for yourself the exceptional quality from Weinlaubenhof Kracher.
