The Zweigelt from the Kerschbaum winery in the red wine village of Horitschon has a very special characteristic, because the small village of Horitschon in Central Burgenland is known for its wines produced in traditional craftsmanship quality, which do not use insecticides on the vines.
The hand-harvested grapes are fermented on the skins for 14 days, and the young wine is matured in barrique barrels that have been used several times. Each individual winery bottling bears the unmistakable signature of the winemaker in the bottle and reflects the uniqueness of the soils and the climate.
The strong ruby, which ends in violet with a wide rim, unfolds a fine cherry aroma on the nose which ends on the palate with a light peppery-fresh spiciness that encourages drinking.
The uncompromising taste of this wine is achieved through detailed and careful processing.
Kerschbaum Zweigelt is an excellent match for light chicken dishes, pâtés and cheeses of all kinds.
