The Kracher "Beerenauslese Zweigelt

The Zweigelt Beerenauslese from the house of Kracher, located in the Seewinkel in Burgenland/Austria, not far from Lake Neusiedl, can actually be described with one word - delicious!
Of course, this expression is a bit poor, but it describes this top wine in a colloquial way most accurately. It can be enjoyed with or without food accompaniment and is becoming increasingly popular with dessert wines.
If the red Beerenauslese is served for dessert after a successful dinner, it goes best with spicy cheese variations made of blue cheese and hard cheese or with desserts made of dark chocolate in combination with wild berries.
However, there is nothing to stop you enjoying this wonderful sweet wine, which is fermented in barrique barrels and then matures for at least another 6 months, just like that, without any particular occasion, because as the saying goes: "In vino veritas".

The Beerenauslese wines are among the most popular wines from Kracher

Available as a cuvée of Chardonnay and Welschriesling, as Zweigelt and since the 2013 vintage also as Rosenmuskateller, there is something for everyone. The grapes of the Beerenauslese are mostly infested with "Botrytis cinerea", which gives the wines their typical character. In the gastronomy appreciated as a versatile food companion, our Beerenauslese harmonize with sweet and spicy dishes as well as our blue cheese "Kracher Petit"

Awards and opinions

Wine journalists all over the world fall into raptures when tasting Kracher's sweet wines. British wine journalist Stuart Pigott raved in the Los Angeles Times about the "pure ripe flavors, silky richness and superb elegance." Bruce Sanderson wrote in Wine Spectator, " Kracker's series of 2000s are fabulous wines that combine lushness, power and botrytis character."
These reviews could go on almost endlessly - see for yourself the exceptional quality from Weinlaubenhof Kracher.

  • Weinlaubenhof KRACHER from Burgenland - the sunny side of Austria.
  • The Seewinkel, as the warmest wine-growing region in Austria, is ideal for sweet wines due to its Pannonian climate.
  • Illmitz in the Seewinkel - the place is also called the"world capital of sweet wine", lies between Lake Neusiedl and the Hungarian border. The symbiosis between viticulture and national park is simply fabulous and worth seeing.
  • Burgenland is just as famous for its fruity-sweet white wines as it is for its powerful, ripe red wines, thanks to the favourable climatic conditions.
  • From fine Spätlese wines to exquisite Trockenbeerenauslese wines (TBA) to the finest ice wines, everyone will find their personal pleasure here.
