The Kracher "Auslese Traminer
Look forward to this beautiful wine with the predicate Auslese, which means that directly after the harvest all not fully ripe and defective berries are sorted out. On the scale of the predicate wine levels, the Auslese is located directly above the Spätlese and must have a must weight of at least 105 °Oe to even receive this classification.
The higher the must weight, the more residual sugar content the finished wine has, which in turn means that the more must weight the mash has, the better the wine can be stored.
With this truly great Traminer Auslese from Weinlaubenhof Kracher we are talking about a residual sweetness of 70g/l and you can assume that you can store this sweet wine in your wine cellar for 20 years and more without any problems. Provided, of course, that it is stored correctly without large temperature differences, etc.
In any case, you are buying a wine here that is already being praised in the highest terms by Falstaff, Wine Enthusiast and James Suckling, as the awards at the official tastings prove.
The Auslese is the introduction to Kracher's botrytis wines
The single-varietal representatives Traminer, Muskat Ottonel and Zweigelt are typical for the variety and characterized by long-lasting freshness. The Cuvée consists of Chardonnay and Welschriesling and is a complex, elegant wine. The Auslese have a residual sugar content of about 70 to 90 g/l. These wines go very well with Asian dishes, seafood, foie gras and fresh fruit desserts.
The awards and opinions
Wine journalists all over the world go into raptures when tasting Kracker's sweet wines. British wine journalist Stuart Pigott raved in the Los Angeles Times about the "pure ripe flavors, silky richness and superb elegance." Bruce Sanderson wrote in Wine Spectator, " Kracker's series of 2000s are fabulous wines that combine lushness, power and botrytis character."
These reviews could go on almost endlessly - see for yourself the exceptional quality from Weinlaubenhof Kracher.
