The "Sistema Solera 

Sistema Solera is an ageing process that has been used in Spain for centuries to produce ultra-fine rums.

The main idea of the solera system is to achieve high-quality ageing of fine spirits in a few years.

This is achieved by blending rums of different ages in barrels placed one above the other in the shape of a pyramid.

Each row of barrels is named after its age.

The lowest row is called the "solera" because the oldest type of rum is stored there.

The higher the barrel is stored, the younger the distillate it contains.
