History of the House of Taittinger

The Taittinger champagne company was founded in 1734 and quickly developed into a small champagne empire. Over the years, the Taittinger family has been able to buy up more and more vineyards, so that the company now has around 260 hectares of vineyards in the best crus. Taittinger is the third oldest champagne house in the world.

The Taittinger family is known in France far beyond champagne production, and for many years has played a prominent role in the country's politics and economy. At present, the Taittinger Champagne company is run by Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger.

Taste and quality of Taittinger Champagne

The worldwide popularity of Taittinger has mainly to do with the consistently superior quality of this champagne. The house of Taittinger continues to be family-owned and thus vouches for the consistently high standards with its good name.

Depending on the vintage, the grape varieties used and the production process, Taittinger Champagne develops different aromas and alcohol content. The different variations of the famous champagne are offered under the name Taittinger Cuvée.
